PassageWay demonstrates how easy and convenient using public transport, especially buses, can be. We achieve this through vibrant digital signs that display live, local transport details.

Making The Choice Of Public Transport Easy

PassageWay is a Real time Passenger Information (RTPI) Smart City SaaS team, based in Battersea, South West London.

Founded by digital entrepreneur Chris Johns and his experienced team. We set out to build RTPI software that leverages Nudge Theory to make a positive difference to modern, sustainable living and the wider environment.

By simplifying public transport information, we reduce the stress many people feel when considering it.

The founders of PassageWay are Chris Johns, Alasdair Watson, Andy Marciniak and David Shobanjo. We also work with a small number of very trusted contractors.

Why our focus on Buses (mainly)?

Although buses are the most popular form of public transport, choosing the right one can be frustrating, especially without real-time info on routes, waiting times, disruptions, and local maps. According to a London TravelWatch report (that we discuss in this blog post) this issue affects millions in London and more broadly across the UK who lack access to mobility apps.

Our goal is to ensure that all UK bus stops and community locations have real-time public transport information, accessible via QR codes or screens.

Our work utilises Nudge theory, driven by Liberal Paternalism, where "Choice Architects" present options that benefit individuals and society. We apply this theory by using real-time information to demonstrate the ease and convenience of choosing public transport, especially buses.

PassageWay generates demand for public transport by alleviating the anxiety that many customers experience when contemplating it as an option.
